Feature of the Month – Production Costs
by

“Did I profit with this production order?”
” What’s my production cost? “

Those are questions asked by our customers every day. This article will show how you can setup Prodsmart to answer this and other matters regarding Production Costs.

To measure costs, we will need to monetize raw material consumption and production times.

Raw Materials

When you do a stock movement you’ll need to set the cost of the entry materials. Either choose to set the total cost or the cost per unit.
See how to on the following video:

By doing this, your stocks will be properly valued.

Workers and Machines Times

To value the time you’ll need to set the cost/hour of the workers and the machines.

Workers

To set the cost/hour of the workers go to the worker’s menu, where you can choose to set a standard time for all the workers or specify a cost for each worker.
See how to on the following video:

Machines

The way to set machines cost/hour is very similar to the workers.
On the Machines menu, you can choose to set a standard time for all the machines or specify a cost for each machine.

After these simple configurations, you will be able to create reports that will show you the total cost of the productions, the cost of machines downtimes and the cost of raw materials consumption.

The cost feature is only available on some plans. Please go to prodsmart.com to know more.
